Zunkai Stainless Steel has expanded its wire product inventory with a new stock of 304 stainless steel spring wire, targeting automotive component manufacturers and industrial spring producers. The wire is cold-drawn to ASTM A313/A313M (Standard Specification for Stainless Steel Spring Wire) and is available in diameters from 0.3 mm to 8.0 mm.
The 304 spring wire is produced from Type 304 austenitic stainless steel rod, cold drawn through successive dies to achieve the high tensile strengths required for spring applications. Tensile strength varies inversely with wire diameter and ranges from approximately 2,200 MPa for 0.3 mm diameter wire to 1,400 MPa for 8.0 mm diameter wire, per ASTM A313 strength tables.
Surface finish is bright-drawn with a thin residual lubricant film from the drawing process, suitable for coiling and forming. For applications requiring a completely clean surface, the wire can be supplied in a cleaned and passivated condition.
Spring wire is packaged on spools (DIN 200, DIN 250, or custom spool dimensions) with typical spool weights of 50 kg to 200 kg depending on wire diameter, or in coil form for heavier diameters. Spool packaging supports automated coiling machines that require continuous-feed wire with consistent tensile properties throughout the spool.
304 stainless steel spring wire combines corrosion resistance with good spring properties at moderate cost, making it suitable for a range of automotive and industrial spring types:
Current stock covers the 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm diameter range, with heavier diameters available on short lead time. Standard spool packaging applies; customers with specific spool specification requirements should confirm compatibility at time of order. Volume pricing is available for annual contract quantities exceeding 5 metric tons per diameter.
